So choosing commits to a block that does not exist yet, and a second call reads it. Two transactions per decision is the price of a deck nobody can see, including us. What is taken is a tax on your profit only, never on the stake you get back. The exact rate is read live from the contract and printed just above. Lose and you are taxed nothing, because there is nothing to tax. Push and your stake comes back whole. That means the true cost of a game here is its own edge plus the burn, which is why both columns are printed in the tables rather than blended into one number.
Is it fair?

You commit in one block and the outcome is read from a later block's hash, so the number deciding your bet did not exist when you chose it. Neither you nor we can know it in advance. On an L2 the sequencer orders blocks, so in principle it could influence a hash: that caveat applies to every onchain game on this chain and it is stated here rather than left out. If nobody reveals within 256 blocks the chain forgets the hash and your stake refunds in full, untaxed. Everything else is a public read: the bankroll, the maximum stake, every round ever played and the exact split of every win. The house can withdraw its free bankroll but never the part reserved against a bet already placed. Your stake stops being ours to move the moment you place it. This is a game. Only stake what you can lose.
